APIs

One foundation of human data. Three ways to build on it.

GWI’s APIs bring human data into the dashboards, assistants and products you’re building. Pull the data itself, ask questions in plain language, or get a finished analysis back, all from the same survey data: 5.5 million interviews a year with real people.

Platform API

Get structured data

Audience and market data goes straight into your BI tools and internal platforms, with no manual exports. It refreshes automatically with every release. Combine it with your own data to see how your customers compare with the market.

Use it for: dashboards, reporting and analysis.

Spark API

Get answers.

Ask a question in plain language, like how an audience shops or what they watch, and get a short answer back inside your own tools. Anyone using what you build gets an answer, without learning how GWI’s data is organized.

Use it for: assistants and tools that do their own reasoning and need a quick data-driven answer.

Agentic API

Get the finished analysis.

Send a question or a goal. GWI’s agent works out what to ask, picks the right audiences within the limits and definitions your research team sets, and sends back a finished analysis with the evidence attached.

Use it for: pitch tools, assistants and products that need to deliver ready-to-use analysis.

Every answer draws from real human data

Any provider can offer an API. What differs is the data behind it. Every GWI API draws on the same survey of what people think, feel and do, regularly updated throughout the year.

Using Claude, ChatGPT or Copilot?

An Ask GWI prompt sent through AI assistants such as Copilot, ChatGPT, Claude and Gemini, connected to GWI and returning an answer.

Connect them to GWI with MCP and ask what an audience cares about without leaving the tool.

Got questions? We’ve got answers.

What’s the difference between the three APIs?

It’s what comes back. Take the question “How do Gen Z in Germany shop online?” The Platform API returns the figures as structured data, for your dashboards, reports or models. The Spark API returns a short written answer, for an assistant or internal tool to pass on. The Agentic API takes the same question and returns a finished analysis with the evidence attached, for something like a pitch tool.

Do they use the same data?

Yes. All three draw on the same survey data, across the same 53 markets and 15+ years of history. So you can start with one and add another later without the numbers underneath changing. Whichever you use, the audience and sample come with the answer.

Is Spark API the same as Agent Spark?

No. Agent Spark is GWI’s human insights analyst inside the platform: you open it, ask a question and read the answer there. The Spark API is for building. Your own assistant or tool sends GWI a question, gets a short answer back and decides what to do with it. If you want to ask questions yourself, you want Agent Spark. If you want your software to ask them, you want the Spark API.

Do I need a developer?

Yes. Someone on your technical team connects the API to your tools, such as a BI platform, an assistant or an internal app. Once it’s built, the people using it don’t need to know how GWI’s data is organized. If you’d rather ask questions in Claude, ChatGPT or Copilot, MCP is the simplest way to connect them to GWI.

How do I get started?

If you know what you’re building, read the API documentation. If you’re still choosing, tell us the job (a dashboard, an assistant, a pitch tool) and we’ll point you to the API that fits.
